EDM megastar Diplo and influential songwriter/producer Dr. Luke have gotten together and signed a joint publishing deal between their Mad Decent Publishing and Prescription Songs companies, respectively.
The partnership will merge the rosters of the two organizations into a roster that they will both oversee, which will now include Mad Decent artists Lunice (of TNGHT), DJA, and Maxime and Clement Picard, among others, as well as Prescription’s Benny Blanco (who will be honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame this summer), Bonnie McKee, Kool Kojack, Ammo, Cirkut, Becky G, and more.
“I am a huge fan of Diplo and Mad Decent and the music they are putting out,” said Dr. Luke in a statement. “I look forward to our teams collaborating and making music together.”
Mad Decent has had some mainstream success of its own of late, as Bauuer’s “Harlem Shake” dominated the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks and became just the 21st song in the chart’s 55-year history to debut at No. 1. They also grabbed some national exposure with TNGHT’s “Higher Ground” Adidas sync.
“[I’m] really looking forward to collaborating more with Luke and putting his crew with ours,” Diplo added. [Billboard.biz]
