Syndicated radio personality Kidd Kraddick has died. He was 53.
The popular host of Kidd Kraddick in the Morning, who was born David Peter Cradick, died while attending a charity golf tournament in New Orleans, according to a statement posted on his radio show’s Facebook page.
On late Saturday night, his family released a statement through Kelly Kibler Owens, with Clear Channel.
“It has been confirmed that Kidd Kraddick passed away today in New Orleans at a golf tournament organized to raise money for his beloved Kidd’s Kids charity. He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him,” the statement read. “All of us at KISS-FM, ClearChannel Dallas, YEA Networks and the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning crew are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader. Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years, his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children.”
The cause of death was not released.
Kraddick was based in Dallas, and his show had been syndicated since 2001. It can be heard on more than 100 stations nationwide. He also appeared on the entertainment television show Dish Nation. Kraddick’s charity, Kidds Kids, raises money to allow chronically ill children to visit Walt Disney World.
Kraddick and his wife divorced in 2007. He is survived by one daughter, Caroline Cradick.
