Selena Gomez, Zedd, I Want You to Know, 2015

Zedd zooms into the top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart with the Selena Gomez-assisted “I Want You to Know,” which launches at No. 9. The pop/EDM track sold 12,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music, after it was released at midnight on Monday, Feb. 23.

“Know” arrives as the sixth top 10 for the DJ/producer (real name: Anton Zaslavski), tying him with Calvin Harris for the most in the chart’s two-year history. On Dance/Electronic Digital Songs, the track starts at No. 6.

Zedd co-wrote “Know” with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and Kevin Drew. It’s set to appear on Zedd’s forthcoming second full-length album, due this spring. The song could surge further next week, with, by then, a full week of sales, airplay and streaming under its belt.

TAKE ME TO CHVRCHES: Also new on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs is a newly-released remix of Chvrches‘ “Tether,” by Eric Prydz (No. 31). Credited to Eric Prydz Vs. Chvrches, the remixed version starts with 2,000 sold. The original “Tether,” a half-ballad, half-synth-heavy track, was released in September 2013 on Chvrches’ debut studio album, The Bones of What You Believe. (The set produced the No.12 Alternative Songs hit “The Mother We Share.”)

Prydz, normally a house DJ, recently stirred trance fans when he was announced as part of the ASOT (A State of Trance) billing alongside Armin van Buuren and others at the upcoming (March 27-29) Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

It was eight years ago this week that Prydz took “Proper Education” (billed as by Eric Prydz Vs. Floyd) to the top of Dance/Mix Show Airplay for the first of two frames on top.

HARRIS, GOULDING GO No. 1: On Dance/Mix Show Airplay; Calvin Harris hoists to the top with “Outside,” featuring Ellie Goulding (3-1).

The song marks Harris’ eighth No. 1, vaulting him into second place by himself for the most leaders in the chart’s 11-year history. He passes David Guetta and Madonna, each with seven. Rihanna leads all acts with 11 No. 1s.

“Outside” also sits, if you will, just outside the No. 1 spot on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, perching at No. 2 for a second week. Lillywood & Robin Schulz “Prayer in C” leads the list for a fourth week.

FERRY RIDE: Ferry Corsten cruises to his second Dance/Mix Show Airplay top 10 with “Hyper Love” (12-10). The trance DJ scored his first top 10 nine years ago with “Fire,” which peaked at No. 6.

“Hyper,” featuring vocals from Nat Dunn, became Corsten’s first top 10 on Dance Club Songs (reaching No. 9) late last year.

Madonna Notches Historic 44th No. 1 on Dance Club Songs Chart

MADONNA REMIXED: As previously reported, Madonna scores her milestone 44th No. 1 on Dance Club Songs with “Living for Love.” With the coronation, she ties George Strait for the most leaders on any single Billboard chart. (Strait has gone straight to the top of Hot Country Songs with 44 titles.)

Digging deeper into her new leader, remixes from Offer Nissim, Djemba Djemba, Erick Morillo and others helped lift “Love” to the top.

Madonna also manages her 14th hit on Dance/Mix Show Airplay with “Love” (No. 35), the lead single from Rebel Heart, due March 10. The chart debuted on Aug. 16, 2003 (coincidentally, the icon’s 45th birthday).
