Rihanna was rumoured to be a late addition to the line-up of performers at the ceremony, which takes place at The o2 in London tonight (February 25). However, as The Sun reports, she failed to attend rehearsals on Monday as has since been replaced on the bill by Kanye West.
“Everything was prepared for Rihanna’s performance but she was a no-show,” a source told the paper. “The organisers are furious as she was one of the biggest coups.”
West is expected to be playing a new song and will reportedly be backed by an elaborate production and joined by a huge team of dancers.
Hosts Ant and Dec are hoping for a headline-grabbing repeat of West’s Grammy Awards night with Ant McPartlin saying: “Come on, give us a Kanye moment.”
Declan Donnelly is less excited about potential chaos though, stating: “We’re not going to wrestle anybody to the ground or stand in their way. As long as nobody dies we should be alright.”
Other artists set to perform at tonight’s ceremony will be Madonna, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, Royal Blood, George Ezra and Take That.
