Nas, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto and More Help Cloud-Based Mastering Startup LANDR Raise $6.2 Million

Warner Music Group, rapper Nas and a private equity fund operated by four famous DJs are among the new backers in cloud-based mastering service LANDR. Additional participants in the $6.2-million funding round were prior investor YUL Ventures, Real Ventures and Cirque Du Soleil founders Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier.

The funding indicates further interest by music creators in cloud-based services made for their type of work. Plus Eight Equity Fund, an investor in LANDR as well as cloud-based collaboration service Splice, includes DJs Pete Tong, Richie Hawtin, Tiga and John Acquaviva. Tiësto, Steve Angello (ex-Swedish House Mafia) and WME also invested in Splice.
