Sony has a lot of problems, but the music game isn’t one of them. Sony Music Group ended up netting a profit of $463 Million. Get this, that’s on sales of $5.5 Billion (think of what the overhead is, and then stop questioning why people sign to labels). As we’ve reported in the past, low TV and tech sales are bringing Sony (not music) to the toilet for a swim. The company announced an annual loss of $5.7 Billion. I know that Sony Music was just involved in the purchase of EMI’s publishing half, but could Sony Music be the next music major sold off? -Allindstrom.com
