Haim trail Justin Timberlake by 700 sales in race for Number One album
Haim are battling Justin Timberlake for the Number One in the Official Albums Chart this week, with their debut album ‘Days Are Gone’ just 700 sales behind its closest rival.

Official Chart Company data reveals that the US band are currently behind Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2’, which is at Number One, and find themselves at Number Two by an incredibly small margin. The winner of this week’s chart battle will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (October 6).

Elsewhere in the Official Album Chart, Arctic Monkeys remain in the top five with ‘AM’ at Number Five. Kings Of Leon, who were last week’s Number One, fall to Number Three with their album ‘Mechanical Bull’ while US metal band Alter Bridge are new at Number Four with their latest album ‘Fortress.’ Other new entries are due from Dizzee Rascal (9), Sub Focus (10), Status Quo (18), Moby (21), Metallica (25), Kids In Glass Houses (27), The Answer (29), All Time Low (37), Johnny Flynn (38) and Turin Brakes (39).

New entries in the Official Single Chart at today’s (October 3) midweek stage come from The Vamps at Number One with their debut single ‘Can We Dance’ and dance duo Chase & Status with their track ‘Count On Me’. Other new entries include Nelly (16), Lucy Spraggan (19), Two Door Cinema Club (24), Fuse ODG (32) and Maxsta (40).
