Diggin’ In The Carts is a new video documentary series that explores the history of Japanese video game music, and how it has influenced modern musicians that grew up with systems like the NES, SNES and Mega Drive / Genesis.

Director Nick Dwyer interviewed some of Japan’s most iconic video game composers for the series, including Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage) and Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy).

You can view the first episode of the series above. See the RBMA site for the rest of the videos in the series, along with interviews with Final Fantasy’s Nobuo Uematsu and others.
