Courtney Barnett, Carl Barat and The Jackals, Ben Kweller, The Big Pink, Jessie Ware and Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts will all be headed to Austin, Texas, in March for the South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival, the annual industry gathering announced Wednesday.
SXSW Probably Isn’t Going Anywhere – But Big Changes Loom
In all, 171 acts were revealed in the event’s first round of official artists. As well, San Francisco’s The Dodos, Copenhagen’s Mew, Los Angeles’ Mini Mansions, Nashville’s Natural Child, Los Angeles’ Thee Oh Sees and Austin’s Jess Williamson are all scheduled to play showcases as well.
2015’s SXSW will be its 29th edition, with the music portion taking place Tuesday, March 17 – Sunday, March 22.

The first round of music conference sessions were also announced including an interview with Australian new wave band The Church, and others with titles “Ladies First: How to be a Woman in Rap Journalism,” “Viva Album Art!” and “That Sync-ing Feeling!”
