Rapper and songwriter T.I. has signed a worldwide deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, the company announced Friday. The agreement covers all future works, as well as his just-released studio album and his share of the cut for Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines,” the biggest hit of 2013.
Born Clifford Harris, the Atlanta native has released nine studio albums and has been a lead or featured artist on over 100 singles since breaking out in 2003. His No. 1s include “Whatever You Like,” “Live Your Life,” Justin Timberlake‘s “My Love” and “Blurred Lines.” T.I. has sold more than 14 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide. “Blurred Lines” topped the Hot 100 for twelve consecutive weeks and stands as the top-selling digital single of 2013.
“T.I. is an all-round talent and we are thrilled to be working with him at Sony/ATV,” said Martin Bandier, Sony/ATV’s chairman and CEO. “He already has an extensive catalog of hit songs and albums behind him and there is plenty more to come, starting with his new album.”
T.I.’s new album, Paperwork, was released Oct. 21 on Grand Hustle/Columbia Records and features collaborations with Iggy Azalea, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Usher and Pharrell Williams.
