Avril Lavigne is reportedly suffering from an undisclosed health problem.

Billboard cites a direct message conversation allegedly held between Lavigne and a fan on Twitter, in which the singer admits to ‘health issues’, apparently writing: “I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no [sic] why I’ve been absent. I’m torn as I’m quite private…. I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

Lavigne publicly posted a “thank you” on Twitter when the same fan account, @AvrilMusicChart, posted the message “#GetWellSoonAvril #PrayForAvril”.

Avril Lavigne released her last, self-titled album in 2013. It followed 2011’s ‘Goodbye Lullaby’. ‘Avril Lavigne’ featured ‘Let Me Go’, a duet with her second husband, Nickleback’s Chad Kroeger, as well ‘Bad Girl’, which featured Marilyn Manson.
