In a spirited discussion held at Loyola University, New Orleans, professor George Howard and SoundExchange head John Simson discuss what SoundExchange does and why it exists. They also talk about why royalty rates for internet play differ from those for terrestrial radio, why terrestrial radio has traditionally been unfriendly to artists and if SoundExchange really is out to kill streaming radio forever. They also discuss the future of radio and whether it lies in the terrestrial or online realm. Great piece!
