Steve Yegelwel has been hired as SVP A&R for Mercury, label President David Massey announced this morning. Yegelwel comes to Mercury from S-Curve, where we was President for the last five years. His career also includes stints at Columbia, Atlantic and Island, where he had his first industry gig. Said Massey: “Steve is one of New York City’s A&R secret weapons, with an amazing track record of developing smart new artist signings and chart hits for more than 10 years, from Fountains of Wayne to We the Kings.  Steve is that rare invaluable A&R individual whose tastes consistently define the state-of-the-art of rock & pop today.” Stated Yegelwel: “I am very excited for this opportunity to work with David Massey and his team.
