The internet has brought a lot of attention to payment discrepancies among streaming music platforms. For whatever reason, artists are not getting their just due for their work. Pandora founder, Tim Westergren took to his blog to speak about artist payouts from his streaming service. Although not every artist was highlighted, he chose to speak on those with large and fast growing audiences on Pandora. Drake and Lil Wayne should expect to see $3 millon dollars this year alone. Coldplay, Adele, Wiz Khalifa, and Jason Aldean are already receiving over $1 million dollars annually.

” For over two thousand artists Pandora will pay over $10,000 dollars each over the next 12 months.  more than 800 we’ll pay over $50,000, more than the income of the average American household.”
