Rosie Lopez has been promoted to President of Tommy Boy after ten years at the company. She formerly headed international, marketing for Tommy Boy.

Lopez is the label’s second president in its 32 year history. The label’s last president, Monica Lynch, was appointed in 1985.

Born in Cuba, Lopez formerly ran the U.S. arm of UK label Big Life Music from 1990-1994. She was the Director of the U.S. operation of the UK’s DMC which runs world DJ competitions and was managing director of the house label Masters at Work from 2000-2003. In the late-90′s, Lopez created Street Couture, a fashion company that created fashion solutions for artists, music labels and brands. She began her career in the 80′s as a DJ.
