David Saslow, Atlantic Records’ SVP of video content, production and promotion since 2007, has been bumped up to the position of general manager of the label, Billboard.biz has learned.
In an email to Atlantic employees, Julie Greenwald (chairman/COO) and Craig Kallman (chairman/CEO) wrote of Saslow:
It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of David Saslow to GM of Atlantic Records. As you all know, David has been instrumental in helping our artists achieve their creative vision through video and content. He has been a key strategist in all of the marketing and promotions of our artists across all genres. We know that in this new role David will continue to raise the creative bar across the board for all of our acts.

Saslow has overseen marketing campaigns for artists such as Skrillex, fun., Bruno Mars, Santigold, Flo Rida and Death Cab for Cutie. Saslow began his career in the music business in 1992, working in the video department of Elektra Entertainment, before moving to Interscope in 1995, eventually being named that company’s head of video.
The last high-profile hire from Atlantic was Young Jeezy being named SVP of A&R in August, 2012. [Billboard.biz]
