Apple’s Chief Executive Tim Cook and Beats CEO Jimmy Iovine met in February in an informational meeting to discuss the Beats streaming service. Cook appeared to be interested Daisy’s business model and roll out, as iTunes is looking to prepare a similar streaming platform to complement the iTunes store. Cook was joined by Eddy Cue, Apple’s internet product’s chief.
In January, Iovine said in an interview that he had spoken with Apple’s founder, the late Steve Jobs, about a subscription service in 2003, but that ultimately, Jobs did not want to pay record companies enough. So far, information about Daisy’s strategy and roll out remains tightly under wraps.
