Twitter released it’s new music app today, but unless you’re one of the select influencers on their list you’ll still have to wait to try it. Check out the news update below.

A new music app from Twitter has been released – but only to a select list of ‘influencers’.

AllThingsD reports that the micro-blogging site introduced the new music discovery app for iOS devices on Friday (April 12) to an audience of high-profile users to coincide with Coachella weekend, including famed US radio and television presenter Ryan Seacrest who has already been tweeting about the app.

It will reportedly be made available to the public at the end of this week, according to sources, and MusicAlly notes that the service may be called Trending Music, as the current holding information displayed on its sign-up page appears to suggest.

The app recommends music to users based on factors including who a user follows, plus it provides audio and video clips within it hosted via the likes of Spotify, Rdio, SoundCloud, iTunes, Vevo and YouTube.

Other features said to be included are artist biographies, charts, verified users and search functions.
