It’s a beautiful morning for Robin Thicke, Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Iovine and John Janick, who have collectively seized the #1 and #2 slots on the singles chart with the legit smashes “Blurred Lines” and “Radioactive” (the latter on KidinaKorner/Interscope, to be accurate). Pharrell Williams, too, has good cause for celebration, having featured roles in both the studio and the vocal booth on “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” which is perched at #3. The rest of the Top 10 is looking rather fresh, as chart vets Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars reenter familiar territory with new tracks, OneRepublic—yet another Interscope act—gets a nice bounce from its appearance on the Voice finale Tuesday night and Fall Out Boy’s comeback single hits critical mass 20 weeks after release. That leaves long-term chart dwellers Florida Georgia Line and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who aren’t yet willing to cede their prime real estate. Debuts hold the four highest positions on the album chart, the top three in the exact order of our projected Top 15 on next Tuesday’s main chart, followed by newly crowned Voice winner Daniele Bradbury, whose collection of live prime-time performances is nowhere to be found in said Top 15. The debuting Kelly Rowland, next week’s likely #4, is making an upward move as the work week nears its close, while OneRepublic joins continuing double dippers Daft, Florida Georgia and the Dragons. That leaves Justin Timberlake, who seems to be on cruise control as spring turns to summer.
