U.K. singer/songwriter Jamie N Commons will head back to the U.S. this summer for a string of west coast tour dates. First stop will be a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on August 5th (ABC, 11:35pm/10:35c) followed by a show in Denver, CO at Soiled Dove on August 6th (see below for complete itinerary).
Jamie also releases new music today with “Spotify Sessions – Live at SXSW’ available now only at Spotify. Recorded in March at the ‘Spotify House’ in Austin, Texas during the SXSW Music Festival “Spotify Sessions – Live at SXSW’ includes songs “Lead Me Home,” which was written for the AMC hit The Walking Dead, the new “For You To Learn,” “Caroline,” and a cover of the spiritual song “Wade In The Water.”
Jamie N Commons released his U.S. debut Rumble And Sway EP earlier this year on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records and toured North America with Lianne La Havas.
Born in Bristol but raised in Chicago, Commons accompanied his music-obsessed father to Allman Brothers Band and Neil Young concerts when he was a little kid. At 10, the back-to-back releases of Moby’s gospel-infused Play and the Americana-tinged O Brother, Where Art Thou? Soundtrack prompted Commons to delve more deeply into the roots of rock music. By the time he was 15; Commons had scored his own guitar and started teaching himself to play. Newly signed to Alex Da Kid’s KIDinaKORNER , a label under Interscope Records that is also home to Imagine Dragons and Skylar Grey, Commons is gearing up to release a full-length album that will wield heady beats and boldly inventive grooves to create an entirely fresh style of blues-drenched rock.
