Madelyn Scarpulla, former SVP of Marketing & Creative Services for Roadrunner Records, has been named GM of Loud & Proud Records, the label founded in 2007 by Tom Lipsky. Scarpulla’s appointment was announced today in a statement from Loud & Proud and Lipsky.
Scarpulla is a 28-year veteran of the music industry, starting at Baltimore’s WIYY in 1985 as the station’s assistant program & promotions director, eventually going on to serve as PolyGram/Mercury’s senior director of marketing & artist development, senior director of marketing at Columbia Records, VP of marketing at Atlantic and SVP of marketing at Sanctuary Records, where she first worked with Tom Lipsky.
“There is no one that I trust and respect more than Madelyn Scarpulla,” wrote Lipsky in a statement. “We share a common vision of the role of the record label today as a service partner with artists, fueling their overall business and enhancing their relationship with fans via innovative marketing of their new music. I am excited to have the opportunity to work hand in hand with Madelyn as we shape the future of Loud & Proud.”
“Tom and I have been a stellar team for over a decade during our time together at Sanctuary and Roadrunner Records,” wrote Scarpulla in a statement. “Joining him in the next incarnation of Loud & Proud Records is a natural and obvious move for me. I am thrilled to continue our excellent working relationship while we advance our shared belief that artists come first, as they are the core of our business.” [Billboard.biz]
