Rock luminary Alice Cooper is regarded by fans as “The Godfather of Shock Rock,” with hair-raising stage shows featuring electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood, boa constrictors, and more … he clearly has the “rock n’ roll” attitude. But he thinks that some rock bands today, don’t possess the same demeanor.
In an interview with Fuse, he calls out The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons. Hesays, “Rock n’ Roll is not about happy, happy, happy, everyting’s ok. Hey we’re the Lumineers, let’s clog dance. There’s a place for that. If I wanted to go see a great clog-dancing band, I’d go see the Lumineers. Mumford & Sons are great at what they do, but it’s not Rock n’ Roll. Don’t call it Rock n’ Roll, it’s an offense to Rock n’ Roll.”
