We’re not against the concept of songs being booted from the radio, though there’s a big difference between “overexposure” and “f*ck you, famous band, we think your music sucks now.” BBC Radio 1 falls into the latter camp after, according to Consequence of Sound, head of music George Ergatoudis told Music Week that you won’t be hearing Green Day or Muse on his station any time soon, because he thinks their music sucks now.
Ergatoudis spoke about both bands’ presence (or, lack there of) on BBC Radio 1 in a recent interview.
In regards to Green Day: “The last Green Day project simply wasn’t good enough.”
And Muse: “Muse are approaching a crossroads – their last single was the first one not playlisted by Radio 1 in a decade. The door remains open to them but we’ll have to think carefully about their next album.” (Via)
OH NOES. Now how will Brits lose their virginity to “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life),” besides the Internet?
