The rapper is preparing to release his new album ‘The Fifth’ next week (September 30) and discussed his take on America in a new interview with Metro. “They don’t need another dude trying to sound American,” Dizzee said, dismissing an idea that he could relocate to the US permanently. “I feel thankful that I was raised here. As a kid, I felt I had it bad – and people where I came from did – but if I’d been in a similar position in America, it could’ve been 10 times worse. We have the NHS. We don’t have slums like I’ve seen in the Deep south, or shocking intolerance.”
Earlier this week, Dizzee Rascal debuted his new track ‘We Don’t Play Around’, a collaboration with Jessie J set to feature on ‘The Fifth’. The song is the second time that the rapper and former The Voice coach have teamed up, after Dizzee featured on J’s single ‘Wild’ in May of this year. He has previously unveiled the songs ‘Something Really Bad’, featuring will.i.am, and ‘Goin Crazy’, a duet with Robbie Williams.
‘The Fifth’ also features collaborations with Calvin Harris, Tinie Tempah, Bun B, Trae the Truth and Angel as well as songwriters Warren Okay ‘Oak’ Felder, Andrew ‘Pop’ Wansell, Jean-Baptiste Kouame and RedOne.
