Eminem has said that “nothing” excites him about his forthcoming new album, as he made an appearance on ESPN’s Saturday Night Football programme – you can watch the footage above.

‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ will be his eighth studio album and features production from Rick Rubin, NO ID and Dr Dre amongst others. The rapper revealed ‘Survival’, the first track to be taken from the record, last month, whilst new single ‘Bezerk’ was shared online in the aftermath of his headline performances at Reading & Leeds festivals.

During his brief appearance on Saturday Night Football, Eminem responded to questions about the new record. Asked what he was most excited about with the album, he responded simply: “nothing”. He then continued to explain: “I’ll probably be most excited to just be done with it. It’s called ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ and it’s kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers LP. That’s pretty much all I can probably say about it.”

The Detroit rapper recently headlined Reading & Leeds festivals (August 24, 25) where he came under fire for allegedly miming after some fans took to Twitter to speculate over his performance. The festivals’ organiser Melvin Benn refuted those claims, saying: “There’s some talk of [Eminem] miming? Fuck off. I have never heard such fucking nonsense in all my life. Absolutely no. I was on stage all of the time and, trust me, there was no miming.”

During the headline sets at both sites Eminem was joined by special guest Dido, who sang their collaboration ‘Stan’ with him. Meanwhile, the BBC were banned from filming his performance on the Main Stage, stating that the artist had requested no footage of his show be aired as part of their TV coverage or live streaming.

‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ is set to be released on November 4.
