Bob Rice, the founder and CEO of Four Bars Intertainment, the world’s premier provider of music for the video game industry and highly respected game composer agency, has announced the merger of his company with the newly formed COOL Music Interactive, part of the COOL Music Group, based in Los Angeles and London.

Bob Rice pioneered the use of high quality music in the gaming industry and represents composers such as Inon Zur (Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved, Prince of Persia, Dragon Age), Tom Salta (Halo: Spartan Assault, Ghost Recon, Red Steel), Sascha Dikiciyan (Borderlands, Mass Effect, Tron) and Steve Ouimette (Guitar Hero, Raving Rabbids). Having spent decades at the forefront of the video game music industry, Rice has now decided to retire.

Bob Rice: “Darrell and COOL Music are the perfect choice to carry forth the FBI commitment of ‘Great music delivered on time and within budget.’ Darrell’s professionalism and integrity enables COOL Music to meet and exceed the objectives of the composers and the clients they serve.”

COOL Music Interactive will continue to specialize in the interactive and gaming industries, at all times looking to push artistic and technical boundaries. Its sister company COOL Music is one of the world’s leading boutique film and television composer agencies representing Oscar, Emmy, BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composers; three of their composers are nominated for the 2013 Emmy Awards. Both companies will continue to offer high-end, boutique representation for composers in what is now a global business.

CEO of COOL Music Darrell Alexander: “We are immensely proud to continue Bob Rice’s visionary approach to the interactive and gaming industries; we look forward to supporting and promoting our composers across all areas of the global gaming industry. Our clients and my team are determined to be at the center of this digital media revolution”.

COOL Music’s clients include Lorne Balfe (Beyond: Two Souls, Assassin’s Creed 3, Skylanders: Giants, additional music on Inception, The Dark Knight), Neil Davidge (Halo 4, Massive Attack), Anne Dudley (American History X, Les Miserables), Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hotel Rwanda, Bee Movie, Over The Hedge), John Lunn (Downton Abbey), Nicholas Hooper (Harry Potter), and Daniel Pemberton (Sir Ridley Scott’s new film, The Counselor), amongst others.
