Earlier this week, Beck announced that his latest album Morning Phase will arrive in February 2014 — but on November 24th, he’ll bring songs from his 2012 sheet-music release Song Reader to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles as part of a partnership with eyeglass company Warby Parker. Tickets go on-sale on Sunday, November 3rd.

Beck’s father, David Campbell, will conduct the concert, which will feature the Los Angeles Philharmonic and a plethora of special

guests including Jack Black, Jarvis Cocker, Van Dyke Parks, Jenny Lewis, Childish Gambino, John C. Reilly, Moses Sumney and others, who will all join Beck onstage to present their takes on Song Reader tunes.

In conjunction with the concert, Beck has collaborated with Warby Parker on a pair of limited-edition frames. Named Carmichael, the frames will be available in Root Beer and Crystal colorings and will be suitable for both optical and sunwear. They will be available in mid-November for purchase on Warby Parker’s website.

Beck Remembers Lou Reed

In regard to why he made Song Reader, Beck told Rolling Stone last November, “I think there’s something human in sheet music, something that doesn’t depend on technology to facilitate it – it’s a way of opening music up to what someone else is able to bring to it.” He’s staged two Song Reader themed shows so far: one in San Francisco this past May, followed by one in London in July — at the latter, he teamed with Jarvis Cocker and members of Franz Ferdinand.
