Producer/engineers Chris Lord-Alge (Muse, P!nk), Marcella Araica (Usher, Madonna) and Young Guru (Jay Z, Beyoncé) have been tapped as co-hosts for the inaugural Pensado Awards. The awards ceremony will take place June 28 at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica, Calif.
The Pensado Awards is an offshoot of the audio-focused online series “Pensado’s Place.” The weekly series was created nearly four years ago by executive producer Herb Trawick, who also co-hosts the show with Grammy Award-winning engineer Dave Pensado (Kelly Clarkson,
Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey). Award categories include OMG! Mix of the Year, Game Changer Producers Award, Songwriters Break Thru Award, Master of Mastering and Best Tracking Engineer. Sponsors and additional co-hosts will be announced shortly. The Pensado Awards will also be broadcast online globally one week after the ceremony.
In a release announcing the awards co-hosts, Lord-Alge says, “Dave Pensado and Herb Trawick are like ‘The Tonight Show’ of the audio world, bringing the men and women behind the board in front of the camera.”
