Lil Boosie hit the ground running following his release from prison in early March. The Baton Rouge rapper, who was serving a 52-month sentence for a drug conviction and probation violation, has already appeared on remixes for K Camp and T-Pain and released several records of his own including his latest single “Heart of a Lion.”
Rap-Up TV caught up with the Badazz himself during his trip to L.A. this week, where he reflected on the past few months since his homecoming.
“I’m out here and I’m just getting blessed in so many ways,” said Boosie. “It’s just been a big learning experience for me. A lot of fun, a lot of business also.”
So what’s the first thing he did upon his release? “I went got my kids, went to a suite, ate me a steak and loaded baked potato, got me some pussy and some head,” he revealed. “I was refreshed. I’m kinda hot right now, so they got a lotta legs open.”
After satisfying himself, he got right back in the studio to work on his album Touchdown 2 Cause Hell, due July 15. He’s assembled an all-star lineup including T.I., Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti, Lyfe Jennings (“Cold Hearted”), and more.
Meek Mill and Webbie guest on the club record “I Got Dat” (He also recorded for Meek’s album). “I came home and met Meek and me and Meek been tight ever since,” he said of the MMG MC. “We come from the same upbringing, so I guess that’s why we click clackin’. He wanna see me win, I wanna see him win.”
While he hasn’t decided on his next single, he’s eyeing his Keyshia Cole collaboration “Black Heaven” or the Trey Songz-assisted “FaceTime,” which was inspired by his newfound love for Apple’s video chat technology.
If that wasn’t enough, he’s also been in the studio with Chris Brown. “That’s for Chris’ album. And Chris got one for my album also,” he said. “Me, him, and Tyga on his record and me and him solo on my record. It’s something for the ladies and they gon’ like it.”
