About Composer Noah Sorota:
Noah developed a love for music at a young age. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Noah began on violin at the age of three and added instruments to his musical arsenal throughout his childhood, including: clarinet, piano, saxophone, trumpet, guitar, and mandolin. His time spent playing in various bands, including the traditional Irish band Tenrec, compelled him to pursue music as a profession. Noah’s education brought him to Los Angeles in 2003 to attend USC’s Thornton School of Music and then moved on to CalArts where he graduated with a BFA in music.
After two years working as a staff composer at a music library his music caught the ear of Hans Zimmer who asked him to come to Remote Control Productions. There he worked as an arranger and programmer on a number of major motion pictures and other projects including: Transformers, The Simpson’s Movie, The Dark Knight, Angels and Demons, Henri IV, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Clash of the Titans, Rango (videogame), and X-Men: First Class. Noah was also a featured violinist on Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes, Game of Thrones, and The Three Musketeers.
In 2010, Steven Spielberg gave Noah his first major composition project: Falling Skies. Noah continues to work on a wide variety of film and television projects in addition to writing concert music and guest conducting orchestras when time permits.
