IFWT_Jay_Z_Big_Pimpin_Deposition

When it boils down to one of his most talked about lawuits, Jay Z has no worries. Although, Osama Ahmed Fahmy is claiming that Jay and producer, Timbaland unlawfully used the samapling of his father’s “Khosara, Khosara” composition for the 2000 hit, “Big Pimpin,” the Brooklyn emcee has no plans on being deposed at any time during the proceedings.

More details down bottom.

While Fahmy opposes the argument, Jay states that he and his label obtained the proper license to sample the composition, which is why they are not willing to take the stand. Fahmy – the heir to his father Baligh Hamdy’s estate – has filed documents to place Jigga and Timbo in the hot seat.

“Defendants do not come close to sustaining their heavy burden of showing why they should not be deposed,” the paperwork reads.

“Defendants’ position on the issue of discovery of profits is also specious. In a copyright case, such as this, a defendant is required, as a matter of course, to disclose information regarding its revenue related to the infringing work.”

We’ll see how this ends up – for Fahmy – since the,”Big Pimpin” partners in crime have yet to respond.
