The singer will work on the music for the third film adaptation from the best-selling series books. She will also provide the lead single for the soundtrack, which will be released on November 21.
“Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde says in a press release. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people.”
The soundtracks for the first two Hunger Games films features contributions from Arcade Fire, The National, The Decemberists, Patti Smith, Coldplay, The Weeknd and more.
Earlier this year Lorde said she was working on a new album of her own material, which is “totally different” to her previous material. The singer, who reached global success with her 2013 debut album ‘Pure Heroine’, has said that she has grown as an artist and writer.
