A fisherman in Russia was saved from death at the hands of a brown bear when his Justin Bieber ringtone scared the animal off.
Igor Vorozhbitsyn was attacked by the bear while on a fishing trip in the northern part of Russia and suffered cuts and bruises to his face, neck and chest in the incident. However, things could have been far worse if it wasn’t for his phone ringing as the bear attacked.
The sound of Justin Bieber’s hit ‘Baby’ coming from his handset was enough to send the animal scampering back into the woods and Vorozhbitsyn was rescued by passers by.
“I had parked my car and was walking towards the spot I’d marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me,” Vorozhbitsyn told Central European News (via New York Post). “I couldn’t believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled. I know that sort of ringtone isn’t to everyone’s taste, but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke.”
Justin Bieber himself was reportedly involved in an angry exchange with an aggressive counterpart when he clashed with Lord Of The Rings actor Orlando Bloom in Ibiza last week.
