Will Milky Chance steal #1?

What’s in store on three key Mediabase radio charts? Who will prevail in several heated battles for #1? Who’s buying the next round of drinks? Answer the third question first.

TOP 40

“All About That Bass,” by Epic‘s Meghan Trainor, is once again the week’s Greatest Gainer; it’s up 2000+ spins, but will have to wait one more week to take the #1 slot. Three other lovely ladies also see 1000+ spin weeks inside the Top 10, as Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” (Big Machine/Republic), Ariana Grande f/Zedd’s “Break Free” (Republic) and Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) score big. Republic’s Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj make the Top 10 move with “Bang Bang.” Meanwhile, Def Jam’s Jeremih has the Greatest Gainer inside the Top 20 with “Don’t Tell ‘Em” f/YG. Look for Island/Republic‘s Nick Jonas to debut his new single, “Jealous,” on the chart this week, along with Calvin Harris f/John Newman’s “Blame” (Columbia), Childish Gambino’s “3005” (Glassnote), and Mary Lambert’s “Secrets” (Capitol).

RHYTHM

Def Jam‘s Jeremih is in no hurry to let “Don’t Tell Em” f/YG exit the top spot, as it continues to build. T.I. f/Iggy Azalea’s “No Mediocre” (Grand Hustle/Columbia) and Iggy Azalea f/Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) will have great weeks, as will Chris Brown f/Usher & Rick Ross’ “New Flame.” Over at Epic, Lil Jon f/Tyga’s “Bend Ova” and Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” will also have impressive weeks. And the same can be said for Republic‘s Drake and his latest single, “0-100.” Look for Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” (Epic) and Kiesza’s “Hideaway” (Island) to debut this week.

ALTERNATIVE

As we head into the weekend, it’s a statistical tie for #1 between Republic‘s Milky Chance and their big hit, “Stolen Dance,” and Vance Joy‘s “Riptide.” If we’re going with a survivor pick, then look for Milky Chance to get the top spot on Monday! Meanwhile, Virgin‘s Bastille will enter the Top 10 with “Flaws.” Island/Republic’s Fall Out Boy will have an impressive chart debut at #21 with “Centuries,” while RCA’s Bleachers will also impressively enter the chart with their latest track, “Rollercoaster,” at #31. On a related note, Jack White will debut his new single, “Would You Fight For My Love?” via Third Man/Columbia.
