Kobalt Music Publishing has appointed Jamie McLaughlin to the position of creative director, charged with signing new talent, arranging writer collaborations and pitching songs. She has hit the ground running in the new job, having already played a part in the signing of Lady Gaga collaborator DJ White Shadow.
Based in Los Angeles, McLaughlin reports to Kobalt’s global creative chief Sas Metcalfe and creative and acquisitions general manager Sue Drew. “I am excited to welcome Jamie to the Kobalt family,” said Drew. “She is the perfect addition to our creative team with her enthusiasm and respect from the songwriting community.”
Before joining KMP, McLaughlin served as director of services, pop/rock at ASCAP, where she signed such artists art Big Sean and Haim. She started her career as a promotions assistant at Epic Records in 2007, then spent three years as the executive assistant to Roc Nation president Jay Brown.
The company also announced promotions for Anna Schlafer and Amanda Samii to the position of creative manager.
Kobalt’s client list of artists and songwriters includes Max Martin, Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, Thom Yorke, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Nicks, Skrillex and Bob Dylan.
