Avicii opens at No. 12 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart with “The Nights,” a companion single to his recent “The Days.” “The Nights” is to be featured on a forthcoming FIFA video game and sold 14,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music, good for a No. 7 entry on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs. “The Nights” also netted 1 million U.S. streams (with 76 percent from Spotify) and debuts at No. 17 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs.
Avicii Has the Most Shazamed Song of All Time
Per usual with the superstar DJ, the track’s vocals are uncredited. This time they belong to fellow Swede Salem Al Fakir, who previously sang Avicii’s hit “You Make Me.” Robbie Williams sings on “The Days,” now bundled with “The Nights,” and billed as The Days/Nights – EP. It includes the original version and a remix of each track, one from Henrik B and the other from Felix Jaehn. Both rock-oriented songs are set for inclusion on Avicii’s next album, Stories, due for release next year.
Alesso ascends to No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay for the first time with “Heroes (We Could Be),” (2-1). It’s the biggest hit for the former Sebastian Ingrosso protégé, with whom he reached No. 9 in 2012 with “Calling (Lose My Mind)” featuring Ryan Tedder. “Heroes” hit No. 1 on Dance Club Songs just last week, and now it’s up another notch on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (5-4). The track, featuring vocals from Tove Lo, hustles towards a new Billboard Hot 100 high, too (53-49).

Tiësto takes a fifth track from his A Town Called Paradise opus onto Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, “Light Years Away” (No. 23). The veteran DJ/producer scored two No. 5 hits earlier this year, “Red Lights” and “Wasted” featuring Matthew Koma. He then teamed with Icona Pop on “Let’s Go” (No. 30) and Firebeatz and Ladyhawke on “Last Train” (No. 35). For “Years,” Tiesto teamed with Moti on a recently released remix and on other mixes utilizes the talents of Oliver Heldens and more. “Light” sold 7,000, translating to a No. 13 debut on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs.
Zhu zooms to No. 1 on Dance Club Songs with his debut single, “Faded” (3-1). The cut hit No. 3 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay in October and has sold 99,000 downloads since its release. Remixes from Odesza, Amtrac and the Magician, among others, helped “Faded” shine at the summit.
