Following the shooting of Beanie Sigel last Friday, Dec. 5, was a case of “wrong place, wrong time” according to authorities
Sigel was shot in the stomach outside of his brother-in-law’s Pleasantville, NJ residents last Friday. Police now say the shots were fired from one or two vehicles, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
As previously speculated, Sigel was not the intended target of the shooting. The bullet struck the rapper in the stomach and exited his back. He has since been in and out of consciousness, now breathing from a ventilator through a tube. Police Lt. Danny Adock remarked that Sigel may have become inadvertently involved in the altercation.
“He may have become involved in something that was not necessarily his own doing,” Adcock said. “Just wrong place, wrong time, if you will.”
Sigel’s brother in law, Umar Salahuddin, was also present on the day of the shooting. According to Adock, Salahuddin was found with “scrapes and bruises to his face and arms”. He has reportedly been uncooperative with authorities.
Police are awaiting the opportunity to speak with Sigel, who remains unable to speak with them.
