Dr. Luke’s defamation lawsuit against Kesha, her mother and Vector Management now includes a very personal item — a birthday card Kesha sent to Dr. Luke.
Lawyers for Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald amended the producer’s official complaint on Monday afternoon. Additions include a birthday card Kesha sent to Dr. Luke as well as enthusiastic emails between Dr. Luke and her mother, Pebe Sebert.
Kesha’s handwritten birthday note to the producer reads, “To the foxxy-est producer ever! Ur just getting better with time! Thank you for making my wildest dreams come true!” Although a year isn’t attached to the birthday card, it’s safe to assume it was given no earlier than 2009, when “Right Round” and “Tik Tok” became her first hit singles.

The added material also includes a 2011 email from Pebe to Gottwald, where she congratulates him on the birth of his daughter and says, “I know you are going to be a great dad.” An email from 2009 finds Pebe sending Dr. Luke birthday wishes and telling him, “You are part of our family.”

The amended complaint also accuses Jack Rovner, president of Vector Management — one of the defendants in the defamation lawsuit — of a “longstanding antipathy” toward Gottwald, alleging Rovner wants more money and control of Kesha’s career.
Kesha filed suit against Gottwald in October, claiming he date raped her and seeking to free herself of recording and publishing contracts with him. Gottwald filed a defamation lawsuit shortly thereafter, and a separate defamation lawsuit in December against Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, accusing him of implying that Dr. Luke also raped Lady Gaga (Gaga denied Dr. Luke was the producer who raped her as a teenager).
