A pop-country hunk topped international boy bands, music icons and pro wrestling to be Ticketmaster’s most-searched subject of 2014. The Live Nation ticket retailer places Luke Bryan as being the search bar’s most frequent guest, above One Direction, Garth Brooks, Beyonce and the World Wrestling Entertainment.
Bryan wrapped the third leg of his That’s My Kind of Night Tour in late October. It revs up again in February before closing out in Ireland in March.
Also cracking the top 10 were Taylor Swift, who kicks off her 1989 Tour in May, as well as Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Disney on Ice and Jason Aldean. Other sought-after tickets included 5 Seconds of Summer, the (fully) reunited Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel, who has continued his popular residency at NYC’s Madison Square Garden along with select arena dates around the country.
In addition to search data, Ticketmaster says six of its best-selling days ever were in 2014, a year which also saw a 20 percent boost in tickets purchased on mobile.
