Nicki Minaj‘s wild, emotional journey on the road to her 2014 album The Pinkprint will be the subject of a new MTV documentary titled Nicki Minaj: My Time Again. The film will premiere Sunday, January 18th.

My Time Again is a sequel of sorts to the 2010 MTV movie Nicki Minaj: My Time Now, which focused on the rapper’s meteoric rise and the release of her debut LP Pink Friday. This time around, after already establishing herself as one of hip-hop’s top MCs, Minaj breaks into another stratosphere of stardom.

“When I’m faced with crazy adversities, I turn on a switch that I don’t even know I have sometimes,” the Rolling Stone cover star says in the trailer. “Every human needs to push themselves to the point of breaking sometimes. If you never break, you never know how much pressure you can take.”

As evidenced by the trailer, the documentary will provide an in-depth look at Minaj in the studio and on stage. My Time Again also offers a behind-the-scenes look at the rapper’s chaotic MTV Video Music Awards, where a python bit a backup dancer during “Anaconda” rehearsals and then Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her performance of “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande.

It also appears that the film might delve into Minaj’s personal life and her much-publicized breakup with longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels. “I didn’t know that this album would entail an emotional roller coaster,” Minaj said in the trailer. “No one could prepare for this business. Until you are in it, you really can’t wrap your brain around it.”

In the current issue of Rolling Stone, Minaj opens up about a number of subjects, discussing her meticulous working process, how she has coped with the end of a longtime relationship and how Kanye West pushed her on her “Mosnter” verse. “I hate when artists brag about not writing rhymes, or doing things really quickly, and then it’s not great,” she said in the issue. “It’s ill when Jay Z or Wayne say it, because the results are great. When they’re not? Sit your ass down and figure out something new to say!”
