Dance star Kaskade and Los Angeles management company Little Empire Music this week announced they had obtained a minority ownership stake in Miami management firm Super Music Group.
The joint announcement formalizes an established relationship that began after Kaskade asked Super Music Group’s Amtrac to be the support act on his 2013 Atmosphere Tour.
“It became apparent that not only do we have like-minded taste in music, but that these guys deliver at every possible opportunity,” said Kaskade.
“They’re a talented group of executives that operate like a close-knit family alongside their inspired roster of artists,” added Little Empire founder Stephanie LaFera. “I’m excited to go deeper into business with Super and to grow with one another.”
Currently home to acts like Amtrac, Ape Drums, Craze, and POSSO, Super Music Group was founded as a start-up record label by Brandon Kessler and Derek Walin in 2010. It has since expanded to full-service management, bringing aboard Jake Jefferson and Aramis Lorie of Miami nightlife firm Poplife.
“Collectively, we’ve been in this music industry way too long not to know what works and what doesn’t work,” says Jefferson. “We take care of our artists like it’s a family. It’s not just business, it’s personal for us.”
In addition to Kaskade, Little Empire’s roster includes such acts as Galantis, Rufus Wainwright, Dirtyphonics, Milo & Otis, Late Night Alumni, Trent Cantrelle, and Penguin Prison. [Billboard]
