Lorde and her manager Scott Maclachlan have reportedly parted ways.

Auckland-based Maclachlan played an enormously important behind-the-scene role in guiding Ella Yelich-O’Connor’s rise from a teenage talent to the global star that is Lorde.

According to the New Zealand Herald, Lorde and Maclachlan split about a month ago for reasons that aren’t clear and it’s not known who is now managing the artist.

Maclachlan’s company Saiko Management, which has Sol3Mio and other musicians and athletes on its books, has removed Lorde from its website. Billboard reached out to Maclachlan for comment but had not heard back at press time.

The two-time Grammy and double Billboard Music Award-winning artist recently revealed she was back in the studio focusing on her “next body of work.” There’s no release date penciled in for Lorde’s follow-up to 2013’s Pure Heroine, which yielded the Top 10 hit “Team” and “Royals,” an international smash which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. Producer Joel Little confirmed in February that a new album was coming along.

Though she’s stayed out of the spotlight in recent months, Lorde’s top-shelf global status remains intact. London’s Madame Tussauds confirmed just that by unveiling a wax likeness of the Kiwi performer last week. [Billboard]
