Having already conquered radio, Pitbull is now aiming to take over your smart TV with the launch of two new original series on Endemol Beyond USA, the digital content arm of production giant Endemol Shine North America (with distribution across more than 20 platforms including YouTube, Yahoo, AOL, Roku, TiVo, DailyMotion and Amazon Fire TV).
The announcements for MasterClass and Pitbull Presents were made at Endemol’s Digital Content NewFronts presentation, held Thursday, May 7, at New York City’s Chelsea Piers.
The two new series expand on the existing deal Pitbull signed with Endemol Shine North America in 2014 to produce original content for television and digital platforms. To get an idea of what to expect, you need not look beyond the Pitbull-produced series for Endemol, The Gentlemen’s Code and The Most Bad Ones, already on YouTube.
MasterClass is being described as a series about living life to the fullest and not being afraid of trying new things. With Pitbull on board as a producer, the series will feature male and female hosts getting schooled by experts in a wide-range of fields including welding, surviving in the wilderness, knife-making and dancing.
Pitbull Presents will make its namesake the center of the show, introducing the audience to people who play a profound role in Armando Christian Perez’s (aka Pitbull) everyday life — including a chef, an audio engineer, a b-boy dancer, an artist and more.
The two new shows will bow later in 2015, with no exact release dates as of yet.
Pitbull has a busy month ahead. He will be performing at the famed Apollo Theatre in Harlem on May 19 to celebrate the launch of his own Sirius XM channel, Globalization. The event will stream live on Globalization, officially launching the channel the same day.
