Bruno Mars, Adam Levine, Cyndi Lauper and LL Cool J are among the music stars whose names will be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.
There’s also a posthumous honor for “Mama” Cass Elliot, a member of the iconic ‘60s folk group the Mamas & the Papas, who died in 1974 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced its class of 2016, with a list that includes movie director Quentin Tarantino and actors Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Ashley Judd, Michael Keaton and Kurt Russell, while the likes of Shirley Caesar, Joseph B. “Joe” Smith and Itzhak Perlman will be feted in the “recording” category.
Entertainers are recognized in five categories: motion picture, television, radio, recording and live theater. Each recipient is responsible for their star’s $30,000 cost of installation and they have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection before they expire.
Individual ceremonies have not yet been scheduled. The full list of 2016 recipients can be seen at www.walkoffame.com. [Billboard]
