Bud Light Presents Wild West Comedy Festival - Demetri Martin

Through its rolling record store project, Jack White’s Third Man Records has set up shop in cities all across the United States. But today, the analog-minded company has finally announced plans to open another brick-and-mortar outpost in founder Jack White’s hometown of Detroit. The store will open in collaboration with local luxury goods store Shinola, who recently purchased a building in the Cass Corridor neighborhood, where the White Stripes played their first show and White went to high school.

“From the great visual artists like Gordon Newton to the music of the Gories, and the birth of the Detroit garage rock scene, the Corridor has nurtured Detroit’s soul and inventiveness for decades,” White explained of the neighborhood. “That spirit pushes forward with Shinola’s passion and will come full circle for the artists of the Corridor that work with Third Man Records to plant a new foundation there to help keep that creative spirit alive for decades to come.”

The store will open on this year’s Black Friday, November 27.  [Spin]
