Nettwerk Music Group has acquired New York independent house label Maxi Records.
The roster of artists and producers under Maxi Records includes Sagat, Danny Tenaglia (pictured), Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, Mood II Swing, Cevin Fisher, Naked Music NYC, Itaal Shur, Danny Krivit, Victor Simonelli, Big Muff, Judy Albanese, Shay Jones, Masters At Work, Pal Joey, Claudio Cocolutto, Byron Burke, Benji Candelario, DJ Pierre and Julius Papp.
Nettwerk’s Mark Jowett said: “Nettwerk is honored to be releasing and promoting Maxi Record’s fabulous catalogue of iconic and timeless house, dance and electronic songs from the ’90s.
“It’s amazing how relevant and current much of this music sounds, and we are excited to continue promoting it to a new generation of fans who are sure to love it.”
Added Maxi Records’ Claudia Cuseta: “Handing over the reins of the Maxi Catalog to Nettwerk was a very natural transition.
“Having worked for them independently for many years promoting their exceptional roster of electronic and dance artists, I know they have a keen understanding of both the pop and underground worlds, and a desire to present unique and impactful music in a wide variety of genres.
“I believe they can best present Maxi to a whole new generation of club going music lovers.”
Over the past 12 months, Nettwerk has added a Nashville office, as well as taken a 50% acquisition and go-forward publishing joint venture with Ten Ten Music Group.
In the same period, it has signed an investment and strategic relationship with Justin Time Records and the acquired Robot Of the Century Music Publishing.
The current Nettwerk roster includes Passenger, Family of the Year, fun., Guster, Wanting, Sinead O’Connor, Perfume Genius, Stereophonics, Olafur Arnalds and Chromeo, as well as songwriters like Neil Mason, Jesse Jo Dillon and Andy Hill.
