Pascal Nègre, President of Universal Music France, Italy, Middle East and Africa, will now also serve as UMG‘s global Head of New Business. He will continue to serve on UMG’s Executive Board and be based out of Paris, reporting to Chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge. Nègre will be responsible for strategic partnerships, brand relationships, cross-organizational collaboration and ensuring that the company continues to explore, develop and capitalize on appropriate new digital and terrestrial opportunities and business models. He will also develop and implement a global strategy on CRM, working closely with UMG International Chairman/CEO Max Hole, EVP/CFO Boyd Muir and President of Global Digital Business Rob Wells. Nègre began his longstanding and successful career in music as a driving force behind free radio stations inFrance, then in press and promotions posts at BMG and CBS Records.  He joined PolyGram in December 1990 as CEO of the iconic French label Barclay, and subsequently took over the leadership ofIsland Records and Phonogram in the early ‘90s  He was appointed as President of PolyGram Music in Nov. 1994.  His nickname, The Nutty Professor, comes from the Jerry Lewis film of the same name.
