Fresh from his Grammy win (and, just as significantly, his buzzed-about performance with Wiz Khalifa), artist/ songwriter/ producer Miguel has signed an exclusive, worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group, it was as announced today by Ethiopia Habtemariam, the company’s EVP of Creative and Head of Urban.
Miguel’s Kaleidoscope Dream LP debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 and its first single, “Adorn,” won a Grammy for Best R&B Song. The singer is featured on the cover of this week’s issue of Billboard.
“It’s rare to find someone whose artistry matches their ability as a writer, and that’s what makes Miguel such a unique talent. There’s no ceiling for him, and he’s going to continue to be successful because he is so hard-working and passionate about what he does. It’s an honor to have him join UMPG,” Habtemariam said.
“I’m so excited to finally have a team of publishing professionals that can broaden the reach of my music. I can’t wait to collaborate with new musicians, directors and brands,” said Miguel.
Miguel is currently touring in support of his album with Alicia Keys. [Billboard.biz]
