Concord Music Group has been acquired from Village Roadshow Entertainment Group by Wood Creek Capital Management LLC on behalf of an individual investor group that includes members of Concord’s senior management along with industry veterans Steve Smith and Scott Pascucci. President/CEO Glen Barros will remain in his post, while Norman Lear will continue to be closely involved as Chairman Emeritus. Village Roadshow will now devote all resources to its core film business. Wood Creek is an investment manager specializing in acquiring intellectual properties such as the Bicycle Music Company and the Varese Sarabande film score label. Commented Barros: “I know that we’ve found the right people with compatible values and goals….especially the part about keeping me here.” Added Lear: “It has long been my contention that, when the world finds a solution to its global concerns, the door will have been kicked open by the arts, with music leading the way.  Now, will you stop calling me Meathead?” [HitsDailyDouble]
