Imagine Dragons have signed an exclusive, worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) in conjunction with Alex Da Kid’s KIDinaKORNER effective immediately.
The group’s debut album Night Visions has already earned gold certification from the RIAA and is on its way to platinum. Their current single Radioactive has sold well over one million copies in the US alone and charted as a Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Imagine Dragons represent everything that is defining the musical landscape and the fans are speaking loud and true,” said Jessica Rivera, SVP and Evan Lamberg, president of Universal Music Publishing Group.
“Through the streets of their hometown Las Vegas to the world, great new music can still break through. Alex Da Kid understood and nurtured the creative vision and the team at Interscope Records believed. Together, they set the best example that artist development is still the heartbeat of the music business.”
Alex Da Kid said of the band: “Imagine Dragons represents the spirit of where I would like to see music go and are one of the most innovative bands I have had the pleasure of working with,”.
Imagine Dragons frontman, Dan Reynolds said: “Writing music is the most fundamental and important part of what we do as artists, so the decision to join with a music publisher wasn’t one we entered into lightly. That said, we couldn’t be more excited about partnering with Universal Music Publishing and KIDinaKORNER. Alex Da Kid is a fantastic mentor and friend”
Imagine Dragons also recently announced new tour dates after selling out multiple shows on their international tour, which includes performances scheduled throughout North America and Europe. [MusicWeek]
